While many militant groups are in a ceasefire agreement with the Nigerian government, other groups have continued to attack oil and gas infrastructure.

A militant group called The Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate (NDGJM) is reported by OilPrice.com to have admitted to blowing up a pipeline belonging to Nigeria Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) and Shoreline. The pipeline in question is located in Nigeria鈥檚 restive Delta region.

This latest attack comes after the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, announced that the federal government would put an end to the violence of the militant groups. He did not, however, mention any specific solution.

The NDGJM issued a statement, which included the following extract: 鈥淎s a mark of our faith to totally grounding the Nigerian oil economy, the gallant 鈥極pud鈥 strike forces brought down the Afiesere- Iwhrenene major delivery line in Ughelli North, [...] at about 1 am today, 13 September. The Niger Delta is not a conquered territory and our people have never succumbed to intimidation before - rather, we match force with the oppressor鈥檚 brutality. The Nigerian government should already know that the people of this part are not fools who will not be able to see when they are being treated with disdain.鈥
