Queensland鈥檚 gas exploration potential

91天堂原創 Pipelines,

The recent release of petroleum and gas exploration acreage by the Queensland government could have considerable long-term economic benefits. According to the APPEA, this could boost the state鈥檚 reputation as an investment destination.

The government has announced the release of 16 400 km2 of land in Queensland鈥檚 north-west and south-west through a non-competitive tender process.

Develop resources

APPEA Chief Operating Officer Eastern Australia, Paul Fennelly, commented: 鈥淭he Queensland Government continues to establish plans that will allow the next generation of the state鈥檚 resources to be developed.

鈥淚t clearly recognises that petroleum and gas production is underpinned by exploration that can potentially attract further investment, generate prosperity and create jobs.

Queensland鈥檚 economy

鈥淕rowth need not be achieved at the expense of the environment. Queensland鈥檚 existing legislative and strict regulatory framework provides certainty for all stakeholders 鈥 the gas sector, landholders, communities and government 鈥 highlighting what can be achieved when all stakeholders work together towards the shared goal of growing Queensland鈥檚 economy.

鈥淎 strong resource exploration sector is the backbone of the petroleum industry.鈥
