According to reports, a number of Israeli energy companies have signed a letter of intent to supply natural gas to Jordan's National Electric Power Co. over a 15-year period. The gas will be sourced from the offshore Leviathan field, which is located in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Israel, some 130 km west of Haifa, and will be transported via a new pipeline. The gas will be delivered at a location on the Israel-Jordan border once the pipeline infrastructure is complete.

The Israeli companies involved in the deal reportedly include Noble Energy Inc, Noble Energy Mediterranean Ltd, Delek Drilling LP, Avner Oil Exploration LP and Ratio Oil Exploration LP. Local media have estimated the deal to be valued at approximately US$ 15 billion, although the companies declined to comment.
