Dave Hawley has been appointed as ABB鈥檚 Local Business Unit Manager for Motors and Generators in the UK from 1 September 2014.

The UK business unit is responsible for the sales of ABB鈥檚 motors and generators through direct and indirect channels as well as ABB lifecycle services and tools across a wide range of commercial and industrial sectors.

Dave is qualified in electrical and electronic engineering from the University of South Wales, and has over 15 years鈥� experience of the rotating equipment industry. He joins ABB from Sulzer Dowding and Mills where he was the General Manager of the formed coil division, and prior to that he held a Divisional Director position at Deritend.

Dave will report to Neil Ritchie, Local Division Manager, Discrete Automation and Motion and will be based at ABB鈥檚 head office in Daresbury, Warrington.

鈥淗igher power ratings and improved, more efficient designs in generator technology has seen ABB bring higher-powered solutions to customers in a smaller footprint, with tailored control packages allowing for maximum energy efficiency and maximum reliability.

Dave replaces Ian Allan, who has now moved to a Regional Marketing and Sales Manager role for ABB鈥檚 motors and generators division for Northern and Central Europe.
