According to a company spokeman, Russia鈥檚 Irkutsk Oil Company is holding talks with Gazprom and the Energy Ministry on supplying some 5 billion m3 of gas per year from its Siberian fields through the Power of Siberia pipeline.

鈥淭he question is being discussed now. The decision on access has not been made yet. We are ready to supply up to 5 billion m3 of gas annually,鈥 said Anton Didenok. The company is planning to increase exports and the output of its RUB 110 鈥 120 billion Ust-Kut gas chemical plant in the Irkutsk region, which is yet to be built, to 7 billion m3 in the next five years. The facility is due for completion in 2019.

The Power of Siberia is a gas transmission system designed to deliver gas from the Irkutsk and Yakutia gas production centres to Russia鈥檚 Far East and China. It will have a designed annual capacity of 61 billion m3. The first stage of the pipeline is due to be launched at the end of 2017.
