In an initiative to build awareness and strengthen industry support, Blackhawk Specialty Tools, LLC has painted its HD (Heavy Duty) Swivel pink for use in an offshore deepwater project combined with a donation to the Susan G. Komen foundation.

In conjunction with Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, Blackhawk鈥檚 HD Swivel will be used at Anadarko鈥檚 Heidelberg development well on the Rowan Resolute. Blackhawk鈥檚 pink-painted tools will also be available to customers around the world with a message explaining the new colour choice as an inspiration to join the fight to end breast cancer.

Blackhawk challenged other industry leaders and service providers to join the effort and go pink in October. Breast cancer remains the most frequently diagnosed cancer worldwide and the leading cause of cancer death in women. Now in its seventh year of company-wide support to the foundation, Blackhawk鈥檚 efforts are bigger than ever.

鈥淲e started out by wearing pink ribbons to show our support during the month of October,鈥� said Ron Robichaux, VP of Blackhawk. 鈥淓ach year, we gradually added different elements to our support for the cause. We鈥檙e proud of what we have achieved this year, and we believe our efforts will increase awareness and help find a cure.鈥�
