Nord Stream AG will be conducting long planned annual maintenance work on its twin gas pipeline system between 9 August and 17 August. This routine maintenance work will require a temporary shutdown of both lines at once. The full capacity of the pipeline system will be available again by 19 August when additional planned work of our upstream partner in the Russian section is concluded.

鈥淪ince the launch of the second line in 2012, the Nord Stream twin pipeline system has been reliably providing capacity to transport gas to the EU, helping meet its demand for imports safely, in an environmentally sound way and under sensible economic conditions,鈥� Nord Stream AG鈥檚 Managing Director Alexey Zagorovskiy highlighted. 鈥淭hroughout Nord Stream鈥檚 operations, reliability and safety will continue to be a top priority: the scheduled annual maintenance work thus plays an important role in ensuring that the pipelines will be able to deliver gas safely and efficiently,鈥� he added.

This work is an essential part of Nord Stream鈥檚 long-term pipeline integrity management strategy and it includes annual maintenance of mechanical components, as well as testing of the automation system. The schedule for these maintenance activities has been agreed and coordinated with Nord Stream鈥檚 upstream and downstream pipeline partners well in advance. The temporary interruption of supplies has been factored into the nominations of gas to be transported via Nord Stream to downstream European partners.
