NEB receives new Order in Council regarding Trans Mountain pipeline

An August 30th decision by the Federal Court of Appeal quashed the Order in Council that approved the Trans Mountain Expansion Project and nullified the certificate issued by the National Energy Board (NEB) for the Project.
NEB has commented the following:
“Today, we received a new Order in Council [Filing A94111] from the Government of Canada requiring the NEB to reconsider its recommendations as they are relevant to project-related marine shipping. The Government has directed this work to be completed within 155 days.
The NEB is confident that we will be able to complete this work within the required timeline.”
In the coming days, the NEB will provide more information regarding next steps.
