T.D. Williamson鈥檚 new e-book explores how you can comply with the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration鈥檚 (PHMSA) Integrity Verification Process (IVP) for gas transmission pipelines within days.

This even applies to operators whose current material records 鈥 essential to meeting PHMSA鈥檚 pending regulations 鈥 are incomplete, or don鈥檛 exist at all.

鈥淢aterial identification is a keystone of PHMSA鈥檚 new rules, requiring operators to verify the records they use to establish and support the operating pressure limits of pipelines in high and moderate consequence areas,鈥 says Jeff Wilson, Ph.D., Chief Technology Officer for T.D. Williamson.

But what if an operator lacks complete information essential to material identification, like the pipeline鈥檚 material grade or chemical composition. Doesn鈥檛 that make the task of complying with IVP daunting, expensive, and time-consuming?

Not at all, says Wilson, one of the contributors to the new e-book, IVP. What You Can鈥檛 Afford to Miss.

鈥淭his e-book gives operators a simple, succinct way to understand the pending regulation and how it will affect their businesses,鈥 Wilson says. 鈥淚t also provides insight into how to comply with PHMSA within days, even if you can鈥檛 verify the integrity of your pipeline using original construction codes or if the pipe contains flaws, has been damaged, or has aged.鈥

To ensure US gas transmission operators are well prepared for the impact of the impending regulation, this IVP e-book also explores:

  • Which types of pipes are covered by the new PHMSA regulations.
  • What eliminating the grandfather clause means for pre-1970 pipe.
  • When to use hydrostatic testing.
  • How TDW鈥檚 patent-pending, in situ Positive Material Identification process that doesn鈥檛 require a shut-down or lower pressure can help operators comply with PHMSA quickly, cost-effectively, and efficiently.
